Spring 2008 Follow Up Letter from Janna
Summer Introduction Letter from Janna
Summer Days Camp curriculum features Art Smart, Kitchen Science, and Fair Play, fostering creative thinking and problem solving. Summer Days Camp is a project-driven, non-competitive day camp for children ages 4 through 12.
Our trained and qualified staff are creative, patient, and energetic! The program's curriculum is reflected in the choices offered by the staff. A unique feature at Summer Days Camp is each child is given the opportunity to participate in a variety of stimulating, hands on activities at any one time. Your child designs the rhythm of their day and focuses on the activities they enjoy.
Starting its fourth season, Summer Days Camp offers one-week winter and spring school vacation period sessions and nine weeks in summer.
Held at the Upper Valley Events Center in Norwich (just before King Arthur Flour), the campers find a five acre site complete with a playing field, trails, a stream, a fenced-in play yard, a pirate ship, zip lines, swings, climbing boulders, sliding tubes, a bouncy castle, a performance stage and climate-controlled project rooms.
Director, Janna Genereaux developed Art Smart, Kitchen Science and Fair Play curriculum to address the needs of children. Fair Play includes imaginative games, individual play and good-old fashioned fun like kick-the-can and sharks and minnows. Art Smart provides hands on experience in carving, painting, sewing and building. In Kitchen Science the children (and counselors) are wowed with experiments that make the ordinary extraordinary. Learn how to put an egg into a bottle without breaking it or how to activate yeast at Summer Days Camp.
Summer Days Camp brings together a crew of happy campers learning the skills and benefits of playing with friends of all ages while engaging in activities that they enjoy.
